Tree of Hope:Treatment rooms helping children reach their potential
by Kent PR agency Media Word Waves
Children’s charity Tree of Hope opened a specialist centre last year in Camden Road, central Tunbridge Wells. The Tree of Hope centre is a unique space that offers a café for friends to meet over a light bite and drink, a shop that sells quality children’s and mother’s items and upstairs there are two fully equipped wellness rooms including a spacious lift. The only charity shop in the area to incorporate all of these fantastic things to create awareness and raise funds for Tree of Hope’s work for children and their families.
Hemispheres, specialists in occupational therapy are regular users of the wellness rooms at the centre and currently work with approximately 250 children throughout their range of therapies and clinics to help unlock their potential despite challenges they might face such as dyspraxia (DCD), autistic spectrum disorders, dyslexia, sensory processing and development delay.
Jeremy Marris, CEO of Tree of Hope saw the link and similar ethos that Hemispheres shared with the charity and visualised how the occupational therapists at Hemispheres could aid some of their children and others in the local Tunbridge Wells area who have either learning or physical difficulties of various levels.

“When we opened the Centre last summer we had envisaged a centre that could help some of the families and their sick children that we work with in their need for specialist treatment, therapy and equipment to help provide a better quality to their young lives – I believe that the Centre and working with Hemispheres is helping towards our goals and vision for Tree of Hope”.
Hemispheres have been using the treatment rooms since they opened six months ago on a regular basis where they meet and work with children with a range of varying challenges and aged between four and eight years old.
The two treatment rooms at the centre are available to hire daily from 10am to 5pm – Monday to Saturday which are used by a number of therapists, in addition to the specialists from Hemispheres as each room comes equipped with its own sink, sofa, table and chairs and specialist therapy bed in each one – pre-booking is essential.
If you are interested in either using the facilities on site or the therapy that Hemisphere offers please contact the centre manager on 01892 532843/01892 535525 or visit www.treeofhope.org.uk.
